Angela at soscrappy has announced purple for the March rainbow scrap color. As you know I am sewing my 1.5" squares into 16 patch blocks. This project is getting closer to being completed into 16 patch blocks. I only have 12 more patch blocks to sew. Woohoo!
I made a baby quilt. I used fleece for the backing. I sewed the top and backing right sides together and then turned them inside out. It is a quick way to have a completed quilt. I am making another one using the same pattern and it will be one of my purples for March.

I also participated in Aunt Reem's Place sew along Big Leap. I had a small pink jelly roll that I used to make a baby quilt. It was a fun sew along.
I plan to use fleece on the back of this quilt.
I hope you will take a moment and read Piece N Quilt blog about The Battle Against Breast Cancer and what she is doing to help her mom. Natalia is creating a one block pattern and all the proceeds goes to her mother. I hope you will take a moment and think of her mom.
Great blocks...good job keeping up! Sweet baby Quilts. Since you used fleece for the backing, did you skip batting? I'm sure Natalia appreciates the link to her blog, poor dear. I'll have to check to see if she's done a post-surgery post. Hope your weekend is going well! XO

ReplyDeleteI like your variety of blocks.
You could not have hoped to find a more perfect backing for the black & yellow quilt!
ReplyDeleteReally cute baby quilts. I keep thinking I need to make a quilt of house blocks someday. Yours look so good.
ReplyDeleteLove the house blocks and the quilts are beautiful. I like the fleece backings - snuggly.
ReplyDeleteYes the quilts are pretty. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great array of quilts and blocks! You do beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteI would go bonkers sewing 1.5 inch squares together. I really like your string star blocks. Your X/O quilt is beautiful and the backing matches perfectly.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your Baby Quilts turned out nicely. Every baby LOVES a soft, snuggly backing fabric! Nice choice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your idea about doing the fleece quilts inside out. I've made quite a few with fleece backs and will give it a try. How big is your first quilt. So then do you tie it or tack it instead of quilting? I have been doing machine tacking, very easy. My quilts go to Project Linus. Hope to hear from you, thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful baby quilt.
Your pink Big Leap turned out fabulous, thank you for sewing along!
oh I like that how to make a quick baby quilt idea! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks! I love both baby quilts, but the black/yellow really has my heart! Great pattern and so snuggly for the baby!
