Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict is hosting two fun projects. The first one is her annual
Hands 2 Help charity challenge. Every year many quilts are made and given to wonderful charities. You can even win prizes just for participating. It is not to late to join so I hope you will consider joining. The other project Sarah is hosting is
I May Have A Scrap Problem. I know I have lots of scraps and every year I participate in H2H charity challenge. This year I am combine the two projects. I found a scrap pattern called
Scrap Happiness Squared by Linda Lehn.
This is my finished H2H quilt for Happy Chemo.
This scrappy quilt used 108 - 4.5" squares and 540 - 2.5" squares but I still have lots of scraps.
I thought you would like an update on my 1.5" squares project.
I have used some of the 16 patch blocks in this quilt top. It does feel good that these little squares have become a pretty quilt. I still have many 16 patch blocks. I keep looking for another pattern to use them.
There are a few less scraps in my sewing room.

ReplyDeleteYou are awesome. Such a giving and compassionate person. Your quilts are lovely and will be cherished by whomever receives them!
DeleteI love a good scrappy, patchwork-y quilt. Lovely finish!
ReplyDeleteI love scrap quilts, it's like getting something for free, or low cost. I used a lot of scraps in my Sugar and spice quilt, check out my blog post

It has appliqué on it but the basic quilt is easy and straightforward. It may give you some ideas anyway.
Two great scrap patterns - do love that first one.
ReplyDeleteScrappy quilts are my favorite and your Happiness Squared looks terrific! Sarah does such a wonderful job getting us to donate quilts with her H2H project. Thanks for the inspiration...
ReplyDeleteThey both look great and its such a satisfying feeling using those scraps.
ReplyDeleteJust stunning! Nice way to put those scraps to a very good use!

ReplyDeleteBoth projects are gorgeous - it's amazing what a bit of creativity and imagination can do with the humble square. :)
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Karen!!! You're doing great with your scraps! Thanks for linking up for the I May Have a Scrap Problem show-and-tell!
ReplyDeleteA great use of those scraps. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love both of these scrappy pieces! You have a great eye for color.
ReplyDeleteI just saw on Sarah's site that you are donating some goodies for H2H prizes. Thank you so much for being a sponsor!
I live in a place where I have almost no access to guilds, classes, or quilt shops, so I really appreciate the online quilting community. Knowing that there are like-minded folks out there, ready to give something back to the world, makes me so happy.
What a great use of my fabrics and I love my Accuquilt Go for cutting so this should be great. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLove the scrappy feel with the H2H quilt, great cheerful colors. TFS!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful scrappy happy quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea to combine the scrap project and the H2H project. I'm in the process of reorganizing my sewing stuff, and I know that I need to do something with my scraps. This looks like a fun pattern to help me get my "problem" under control.
ReplyDeleteWell I am glad that there are a few less scraps in your sewing room...when I make a scrap quilt, and I've made several, the scraps just seem to multiply! I think they're like rabbits lol. Very pretty, both quilts.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this a great way to use up your scraps. So good of you to participate in H2H 2016
ReplyDeleteYou made a beautiful scrap quilt; they are the best. Your other quilt is also sweet.
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts are so pretty. I love the colors and fabrics. Yes, a great way to use scraps. That is what I used for my Hands 2 Help log cabin quilt.
ReplyDeleteScraps rock, don't they? Your quilt is wonderful! Thanks for being part of H2H!
