Saturday Sewing

I have interrupted my Saturday sewing to make a scrappy rainbow block.  If you want to see more rainbow blocks stop over at Scraphappy Rainbow Challenge.  It just might inspire you to join along.

It is time to go back to working on one of the retirement quilts.  The great thing about this quilt is the blocks are from a block swap so it shouldn't take too long to finish.

November Already

I have been quilting just not very often in the last few months.  I am just way behind at work and I haven't had the time or the energy to quilt when I get off work.

I finished this baby quilt.  The baby arrived on Thursday.

I haven't been keeping up on my Rainbow Challenge.  But I decide I had enough rainbow D4P blocks to make a quilt.  I want to make different blocks for the rest of my rainbow challenge.

Back in June Doreen at  Aunt Reen's Place was offering a Jelly Roll Sew Along.  I found a jelly roll in my stash Leaf Haven by Michelle D'Amore that I decided to sew along.

At the end of June I didn't have time to sew any more yellow blocks.  These flowers were my yellow inspiration for the rest of the month.

                                                 I have made a couple of teal D4P blocks.

                                       I have been busy working on this "Rainbow" baby quilt.

End of May For Me

I plan to continue doing May For Me things.  As I spend the time walking I wonder about the residents where I walk.  As you can see it is a very peaceful place.

Some residents I remember very well and miss.  Some residents I don't know anything about them. 

I even found my name on one tombstone.   But she was older than I am.

It was nice to see they have been remembered by someone who misses them.

I take my Ipod with me and the residents don't mind if I sing.

It is a very pretty cemetery.

Progress Update

MAY FOR ME

I am still walking just haven't had time to walk everyday.  I have been walking in a very peaceful area.

H2H CHALLENGE

The quilt for Happy Chemo is finished.  The quilt will be in the mail today.

RSC13 CHALLENGE

I have made some 16-patch blocks. 

My other finish.  Is this graduation gift.  The young lady I made it for loved it.  The colors in the quilt are the colors of the university she is going to attend.

Sunday Update

My life has been crazy.  I have been extremely busy at work.  New software programs to learn, an audit this coming week to get ready for, and the last few days of school for students.  So I decide it was time for:

May For Me

Sharon at Vroomans Quilts posted about May For Me.  It is about spending "ME TIME" and I really need this.  I used to walk everyday no matter what the weather was.  Over the years I stopped walking but not any more.  I have walked everyday but one since April 27.  Thanks for the motivation  Marcia & Sharon. 

Rainbow Blocks Update

I have finished my "Green" I Spy Quilt except the binding.

 

Here are my "Blue"  D4P blocks.

I am trying to catch up with the other colors of pink, purple and orange for my rainbow quilt.  I do have a problem because this is the only orange and purple scraps I have.  Hopefully before the year is over I can have some more orange and purple to make blocks.

H2H Update and Green Day

As I looked at my schedule for the next few months I realize I don't have time use these blocks for my H2H Happy Chemo Quilt.

I really don't think Sarah or Em is going to care if I send this quilt instead.  I think someone will find comfort in this green and yellow quilt.

The best thing for me is the quilt is done all except a label.  I know I can get that done before the deadline.

I didn't get to sew very much on my RSC13 "Green" challenge this week.  I made one block that is for a block swap and I put the borders on the I Spy quilt.  I plan to have the I Spy quilt finished by the end of April.

I Spy "GREEN"

I looked at this container full of I Spy charms and decided it was time to start using them.  As I went through the charms I pulled out the charms with GREEN in them.

You can see a block with only a green mouse or a solid block of green.  You will find all shades of green but there are 72 less charms in the container.

This I Spy quilt will be given to the hospital gift shop.

Here is the rest of my GREEN D4P blocks.  I have 14 blocks.

These blocks will wait until I have another color to add to them.

ScrapHappy Saturday - Green

I am trying to sew a long with Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2013.  This month's color is

GREEN.

I found these UFO green and yellow blocks in my stash. 

It is no longer a UFO.  It is a flimsy.

It is always a great day when you use the color "green" and finish a UFO.

H2H Update

Here are my blocks for my Happy Chemo Quilt.  Most of these blocks were extra blocks I had.  I am going to add some borders to the blocks.
