Good Night Irene

Sharon at Vroomans Quilts is always sharing QAL, swaps, helpful tips, etc.  Sharon is a very giving quilter and a delightful person.  Sharon is how I found the QAL Good Night Irene.  I decided to join the QAL since I have lots of 2.5" squares in my scraps and this would be an awesome way to I use them.   I went over to Terry's Treasures and told her to sign me up.    Good Night Irene QAL started in January so you still have plenty of time to join in.

  6. First of all, love the prayer quilt and can't wait to see how you quilt it!

Secondly, I LOVE those blocks and may get sucked into this quilt along too! I've got a ton of fabric cut into 2" squares and this might be a great pattern to use for them - so I think I'll be giving it a try! I'm not sure whether to thank you or not….. ;-)

  13. Karen...Thanks for the visit. All of these blocks are coming from the Vintage Quilt Revival. A lot of them I have never seen, either. I am taking part in the Block-Along. Your Goodnight Irene quilt is going to be so pretty. I am going to hop over to the site to see the other quilts.

  14. I'm hopping along checking out others who are participating. I'm looking for the motivation that I need to get in to my craft room to finish the other 3 blocks for this month and here you are 2 ahead.

  18. I count on Sharon too. She always seems to know what's going on and where to find the best quilt alongs and tutorials.
Your Goodnight Irene blocks look great. I like how you organized them by color. I only finished a few of the 16 patches so far. Hopefully, this week I can make the X blocks.

  19. This might be a good way to use up some of my civil war repro scraps that have been languishing in my scrap bins.

  20. I also like how you are doing your blocks by color....why didn't I think of that? Oh well, like you said, I can see another Irene quilt in the making.

I have a popcorn tin full of 2 1/4 inch squares that I am using. I then had to make my others 4 inches.
