Updates - August 23, 2015

Last fall I won Pat Sloan's Moda Love giveaway.  I won a fat quarter bundle, a jelly roll, and thread.  I made this quilt for a friend who is very giving.  These fabrics reminded me of her wonderful personality.  She is an inspiration because she always sees the positives in life.   She was very surprised and love it.

If you like this pattern.  It is  called Jenna.  You can find it at Shiner's View.  There is a tutorial there to make Jenna's quilt.  I think this pattern was perfect for these fabrics.

I have made a few indigo/black blocks for August.  I am using 1.5" squares to make the 16 patch blocks.  I have a few more ready to be sewn.  I have finally found a block I love to use my 16 patch squares.  This will be an on going project.

I have been making cancer hats.  I need to finish sewing the ones I have cut out so I can take them to the local cancer center.  They are fleece and it will be getting colder here in another month and I am sure they will be needed.  A friend gave me the brooches to add to the hats.

  5. I like the piano key order on your quilt. It is always fun to give a quilt to someone who really enjoys it. I like the idea of the chemo caps, just might have to try those. So glad you're enjoying your retirement!
