Hands 2 Help Charity Quilt Challenge 2013 is ready to start."What does love look like?It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want.It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like."
You can sign up at Sarah's Confession of a Fabric Addict. There are two wonderful charities that you can send a quilt.
The weather sure doesn't feel like spring in Ohio. We had snow over night and no school today. I guess that makes it time to stay inside and quilt. Here is some of the quilts I have been working on.
This finished prayer quilt when to a man who is waiting on a kidney transplant.
This quilt will be a secretary gift. I am working on quilting it.This quilt will be a graduation gift for a young girl. It still needs the borders before it can be quilted.
I will be looking for fabric to make my H2H Happy Chemo Quilt. I hope you will join H2H.
Happy Sewing,
Karen

Snow Day
What will I do? Maybe clean house, laundry, work on taxes or quilt. Let's see. I have three loads of laundry done. Dishes done. I think it is time to quilt or at least take a break.
Should I sew these blocks together
or stitch the binding down on this quilt.
I think I will take a break and enjoy this coffee cake.
Enjoy your day.

Check In Sunday
It seems forever since I have posted but I have been sewing. I have been making bags for Beads of Courage. They are celebrating 10 years. What an awesome program for children with cancer.
.

The blue and white polka dot is a baby quilt for friends who are expecting their first grandchild. The other two are quilts for the hospital gift shop.
Baby quilt for co-worker
I had enough fabric left from this baby quilt I am making a prayer quilt. I hope to have it completed this week.
This disappearing 4-patch block is my current project. I have a very good friend who is going to be 60. I am making her 60 disappearing 4-patch blocks and giving them to her one a day for 60 days prior to her birthday. This project is keeping me busy.
I think this catches up on what I have been doing. I think I will go over to Confessions of a Fabric Addict and see what everyone else has been doing.
Hope everyone is sewing today.

Sunday Check In
I have been busy finishing these projects. A prayer quilt for a classmate's wife who is going through cancer treatments. Diane loved this quilt.
There are lots of ties on the quilt for many many more prayers for her.
14 bags for Beads of Courage
My friend made 15 bags and her daughter took them with her to Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Her daughter works at Cincinnati Children's Hospital so our 29 bags have been delivered.
Baby Quilt for Coworker
This quilt will be given to her tomorrow.
My heart and prayers go out to the community of Newtown, Conn.

Back to Sewing
A couple of weeks ago my daughter got married. She was a beautiful bride and it was a perfect day.
For November in Ohio the weather was gorgeous. It was sunny and in the 50's.
This is a picture of my daughter, Tonya, and her friend Amanda. Amanda's mother is having cancer surgery on Tuesday. I got busy sewing and made Amanda's mother this prayer quilt. I mailed it to her on Friday and she received the quilt on Saturday. I think Sudoku Quilts are always very pretty.
Even Sherry likes the quilt.
I finally found the words I have been looking for to make my prayer quilts extra special and meaningful. I found a prayer shawl on Pinterest and Louis Chiquette had a wonderful description of the meaning of the prayer shawl. Louis was kind enough to let me use this meaning to work for my prayer quilts.
I went Black Friday shopping to Good Wives Co. Quilt Shop. I purchased these two pieces of fabric. I love this kind of Black Friday shopping.
I need to go back to sewing on another prayer quilt.
I hope you have a sewing week.
