H2H Challenge Sunday

Today is Hands 2 Help charity quilt challenge check-in. My partner Shannon and I decided we would swap two sets of fabric. The first set of fabric Shannon sent has bright yellow butterflies on it. I used the butterflies for the center blocks. This quilt is finished. Here are pictures of the front and back.

You can see the back of the quilt on the left. It is a yellow background with blue flowers.

The second set of fabric Shannon sent to me has silly monsters on it. I have the top completed.

Here is a close up picture of the monsters. Aren't they cute?

I am going over to Sarah's to check the progress of H2H challenge charity quilts.

Hollyhock Flowers

A few weeks ago my husband asked it this was a weed. Of course the hollyhocks was not blooming. There are three different colors. It is very pretty against the garage.

Yesterday I took an applique class. We made this fall table runner. I still need to finish the applique. It was fun and hopefully my applique skills will improve.

I am working on these blocks for a baby quilt. I plan to hand quilt hearts in the solid white squares. I used mini charm blocks for the 4-patches. I still have lots of rows to sew together.

I also have been working on my H2H quilt. I will post the finished quilt on Sunday.

Let's go Sarah's and check out what everyone else has been working on.

Another Busy Week

I have been sewing on these little mini charms. I am making a baby quilt using 4-patches and a solid white block. I ran out of the mini charms and they came in the mail this week. I hope to get the other 20 blocks sewn that I need. If you want to take a look at the different mini charms you can buy stop on over at the Fabric Shack.

I belong to a Kansas Trouble group called Lucky Block Circle. We swap 12 inch blocks each month. The dutchman's puzzle block was June block. I am few days late in sending my blocks but they are on their way to their new owner. Our group has been doing this block swap for the past 3 years. Each month a different person wins and they receive a total of 24 blocks. This has been a fun group of ladies.

I remember now why I have a full time job. It is to support my quilting habit. I think I spent more time purchasing fabric this week than I did sewing. I am going on a quilt retreat in July and of course I need projects to sew. This will be a Christmas gift. I am using a 4-patch and rail fence blocks. The jelly roll will be the rail fence block.

I also purchased fabric for another Christmas gift. Miki made this quilt for her H2H challenge. I loved the pattern. Miki was kind enough to share it with me. Go have a look at all the beautiful creations by Miki. Thanks a million Miki. I plan to have the blocks all cut out before I go to retreat.

I am linking up to Sarah's at Confessions of a Fabric Addict so you can see what everyone else has been doing.

Another Week and Not Much Sewing

It has been a long week at work and not much sewing. My week has been early hours and staying late at work. I need the sewing time to keep my sanity. But then again I am not sure I have ever been sane. I did manage to do a little sewing. Most of this rail fence blocks was sewn on Sunday. The quilt is a gift but I am not sure who will receive it. I have a friend who found out she has cancer and a friend at work who will be leaving us.

Stop on over at Sarah's at Confessions of a Fabric Addict to see what everyone else has done this week.
