Blue Blocks and Quilts

I have made a few blue string blocks.  I have all my 3.5" blocks squared up.  I need to lay them out so I can sew them into rows.

I finished the binding on the zig zag quilt.  As you can see my zigs don't necessarily zag all the right ways.  I didn't know notice this until it was sandwiched together.  I am still giving this baby quilt as a gift.  But I will make another one and get the zag zag right.

I need to make the binding for this baby quilt that will be given to the hospital gift shop.

This prayer quilt needs the binding.

Good Night Irene

Sharon at Vroomans Quilts is always sharing QAL, swaps, helpful tips, etc.  Sharon is a very giving quilter and a delightful person.  Sharon is how I found the QAL Good Night Irene.  I decided to join the QAL since I have lots of 2.5" squares in my scraps and this would be an awesome way to I use them.   I went over to Terry's Treasures and told her to sign me up.    Good Night Irene QAL started in January so you still have plenty of time to join in.

I really like how this is coming together using up my scraps.  I can see another Irene quilt in my future to make.  Thanks Terry and Sharon for the inspriration.  Go over to Terry's blog and look at everyone elses

Today's project is quilting on this quilt.

Enjoy your Monday.

Blue Blocks and Slow Stitching Sunday

I made a couple more blue blocks.  These are blocks that Angela posted on soscrappy.    I have been squaring up my half square triangle blocks.  Not sure I will be adding any more blocks this month.  I want to sew all the half square triangle blocks into a top.

This is my Slow Stitching Sunday project. I am working on the binding on this baby zig zag quilt.

Tomorrow is an extra day of sewing for me.

Blue Scrappy Saturday

This is the first week of Rainbow Scrap Challenge of 2014.

Half Square Triangles
I still have another 50 to sew

16 patch block

Last year there were house blocks and I thought I would give them a try.

It will be another fun year.  There is lots of blue inspiration over at Angela's so you might want to check it out.  I am sure you will be inspired.

This doll quilt was my last finish for 2013

Happy sewing.

Saturday Sewing

I have interrupted my Saturday sewing to make a scrappy rainbow block.  If you want to see more rainbow blocks stop over at Scraphappy Rainbow Challenge.  It just might inspire you to join along.

It is time to go back to working on one of the retirement quilts.  The great thing about this quilt is the blocks are from a block swap so it shouldn't take too long to finish.

I hope you have a "sewing" day.

November Already

I have been quilting just not very often in the last few months.  I am just way behind at work and I haven't had the time or the energy to quilt when I get off work.

I finished this baby quilt.  The baby arrived on Thursday.

I haven't been keeping up on my Rainbow Challenge.  But I decide I had enough rainbow D4P blocks to make a quilt.  I want to make different blocks for the rest of my rainbow challenge.
This quilt will go to Quilts Of Compassion

This D4P quilt is also going to Quilts of Compassion

My November list of projects are:
2 retirement quilts
quilt for Christmas gift
pillowcases
